“Why can’t a dress be a chair?” With legwarmers shaped as vases and dresses blown up like 1960s inflatable chairs, we can’t help but smile at @celinekwan_’s whimsical, colourful blooming designs that capture her personal expression of joy — contagious enough to catch even the eyes of singer-songwriter Lizzo.

Inspired by her mother’s love of flowers, Kwan seeks to put a smile on everyone’s faces through her blossoming designs. The young designer participates in K11’s ‘The Love of Couture: Artisanship in Fashion Beyond Time’ as one of six emerging fashion designers crafting dedicated responses to the @vamuseum’s collection, developed by K11 in collaboration with the @vamuseum, Co-chaired by V&A Deputy Director and COO Tim Reeve and Production Designer William Chang Suk Ping (張叔平) @sukwill, with @ubs as title sponsor.
