Scope
Creative Direction / Social Visual Identity / Motion Direction
The brief
JLL wanted to become top-of-mind for Hong Kong buyers considering property overseas. The challenge: most of that audience knew little about buying abroad, or what JLL could offer them. The channel had to build awareness on social without trading away the authority that sets JLL apart.
The idea
Premium, and always backed by data.
My approach
JLL’s audience buys for two reasons at once: investment and lifestyle. Investors look for trust, insight and hard numbers; lifestyle buyers look for quiet prestige and an international way of living. The identity had to speak to both.
I led the development of several visual directions, and JLL chose an Approachable, Editorial, Bold route, which became a look that is bold yet refined: authority balanced with accessibility. Headlines and imagery are layered magazine-style, so every frame feels professional, quietly luxurious and easy to approach. From there, I carried it across the whole feed, directed the motion approach for every video, and led all communication with JLL’s lead agency and stakeholders.
01 — The guidebook
Built on JLL’s brand guidelines, extended into a social-only toolkit: thumbnails, charts, maps and call-outs, with safe zones for every platform.
The system
02 — Reel covers
The thumbnail is the first, and often only, chance to win a view, so it became the foundation of the whole system. Bold headlines layered over international landmarks balance leisure and authority: enough to stop the scroll, credible enough to earn the click.
03 — Data narratives
Seven chart templates cover most data-led stories, turning research-heavy figures into something approachable.
04 — Map system
Maps are central to any property brand. One consistent map system keeps every location easy to read, whichever city it is in.
05 — Iconography
An original icon set turns complex concepts and property jargon into simple visual cues.
06 — Motion in context
Every module working together inside real interviews and explainers, keeping each release on-system.
